Located in the Savoie department, at the gateway to the Vanoise National Park, the commune of Aussois attracts many tourists every year thanks to its authenticity and family spirit.

With the aim of reconciling public safety and environmental protection, this village-station decided to renovate its entire lighting system in collaboration with GROUPE RAGNI. This choice stems from a fruitful previous cooperation and the desire to promote French industrial know-how.

Maurice BODECHER, First Deputy Mayor of Aussois and Chairman of the Aussois management board:

Today, we’re trying to strike a balance between essential lighting and night-time preservation, given our proximity to the Vanoise National Park. This approach is largely justified for the benefit of flora and fauna, especially as we have observed the presence of animals such as foxes in the village, proof that they are not disturbed by public lighting. “.

The municipality mainly opted for retrofitting, replacing 294 light points over a three-year period in order to conserve the existing luminaires and thus reduce its carbon footprint. Traditional lighting aesthetics VENCEand ROGNACluminaires, and the modernity of the EMBLEMEmodels harmonize perfectly with the natural, authentic setting of Aussois.

This eco-responsible initiative has resulted in significant savings in terms of cost and consumption:

  • The luminaires were reduced from 4000k to 2200k inside the village and 2700k on the outskirts,
  • Better uniformity is now noticeable thanks to flow-cutting fixtures that avoid illuminating facades and direct light more effectively towards the road,
  • Reduced consumption was made possible by replacing 100 W SHP bulbs with 15 to 26 watt LED paving stones,
  • 70% savings were achieved by reducing lighting between 11pm and 6am.

In just a few months, the results were conclusive, showing the total disappearance of the light halo that had been hanging over the community; a source of pride for this village of 711 inhabitants, committed to reducing light pollution.

During the Covid period, Mayor Stéphane BOYER experimented with total extinction of public lighting for almost a year:

Several residents told us of their feelings of insecurity, although no incidents have occurred. When the sky is starry, it’s pleasant, but when it’s overcast, you can’t see a thing. There have been times when I’ve finished my journey by the light of my phone. As a tourist village, we have a lot of movement, and night-time reduction is the best compromise to ensure sufficient lighting to get around. “.

Sensitive to sustainable development and biodiversity, the Mayor adds:

In this project, we managed to reconcile our environmental concerns with our budgetary constraints, which is crucial. CSR will become widespread and mandatory in the future, so it’s essential that RAGNI is at the forefront in this area. “.

We would like to thank the Mayor of Aussois, Stéphane BOYER, his1st deputy and Chairman of the Régie, Maurice BODECHER, Mr. Laurent FRESSARD, Director of the Régie, for their availability, as well as Arnaud JAROCKI from the AREL agency, who contributed to this excellent collaboration with the village of Aussois on this major project.

The many visitors to our booth had the opportunity to discover GROUPE RAGNI‘s global expertise and some of the best products of its brands.

Just like the products displayed on our stand, our teams were in true osmosis.

This edition of Light+Building was, once again, a real success, and we can’t wait to return in 2 years’ time, from March 8 to 13, 2026!

85% savings: Marcoussis takes stock
of its public lighting modernization project

In 2019, the village of Marcoussis, a green jewel in the Essonne region, has decided to step up its commitment to sustainability by launching an ambitious project to renovate its public lighting at 1109 light points as part of an Energy Performance Contract. The aim was to achieve 72% energy savings, a target that was more than surpassed!
Thanks to the adoption of LED technology and intelligent control systems, the energy consumption of Marcoussis’ public lighting has been drastically reduced. The old energy-hungry high-pressure sodium bulbs have been replaced by energy-efficient LED luminaires which, in addition to consuming less, now provide lighting that complies with the 2018 light pollution decree, perfectly sized and adapted to requirements.

“We were fortunate that the client ordered all the modernization work to be carried out in a very short space of time. This approach is now enabling us to achieve significant results and rapidly see a return on our investment.

Philippe BLANDIN, Public Lighting Manager STÉLENS

By refusing to implement a lighting-out policy, the city has chosen to preserve the nightlife of its fellow citizens.

“Switching off was neither a socially profitable solution, nor an interesting economic choice.

Guillaume JAN
Marcoussis Public Spaces Department Manager

In 4 years, despite the inflationary context, the savings achieved by the town of Marcoussis amount to €734,682 for an investment of €1,071,705 excluding VAT, over 10% of which was financed by CEE. In 2023, at the peak of inflation, the renovation will have enabled the city to divide its bill by almost 4. The project’s return on investment will therefore be achieved in 5 years.
On the ecological front, with around 159 Tonnes Eq Co2 avoided, the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions associated with street lighting energy consumption has contributed to Marcoussis’ commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Reducing light pollution and preserving biodiversity were an important part of the project. It was this environmental consideration that prompted the town to call on RAGNI’s expertise, installing VENCE flat bowl lanterns in the town center and ATINIA luminaires on the main roads.
Other municipalities seeking to adopt energy-efficient technologies are following this trend, such as La Ferté-Alais and Noisy-le-Roi.

Bruno Charlet, Director of Technical Services for Marcoussis concludes: ” Through this project, we are proving that environmental sustainability can go hand in hand with substantial financial savings. Other local authorities can follow Marcoussis’ example in implementing more environmentally-friendly street lighting solutions, thus contributing to a bright and sustainable future for our planet.

It should be noted that the commune is taking part in the Agenda 2030 process through the Marcoussis 2038 program.

Thanks to Philippe Blandin of STÉLENS and the town of Marcoussis for their testimonials, and to the Etudequipe agency for their expertise.

Night Lounge

Melyn Dreysse

A COLLABORATION WITH ROGER NARBONI AND GAIA LEMMENS

On November 22, at the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales, we had the pleasure of welcoming Roger NARBONI and Gaia Lemmens to our stand to formalize their collaboration with Groupe Ragni by signing the NIGHT LOUNGE, in the company of Stéphane RAGNI, Associate General Manager and Sales Director of Ragni.

Stéphane RAGNI explains : ” We wanted to breathe new life into outdoor spaces and introduce new functionalities through an adaptable, customizable product. We went through a period of confinement during which all we could think about was getting home. We wanted to recreate a nocturnal soul, to give people back the desire to find each other; to breathe new life into nocturnal exchanges. We’ve created lighting ambiances around a smart, connected and modular support. “.

This brand new interactive and connected lighting system, designed by Roger NARBONI, was presented to our numerous visitors: “I visited cities that practiced extinction and realized that the psychological impact of this practice was strong. Everyone goes home after dark, and people don’t go out anymore, mainly because of a lack of visibility and a feeling of discomfort. We had to think up new, welcoming meeting places. NIGHT LOUNGE have been designed with this in mind. Like an indoor salon, the idea was to reproduce the conditions of a home in the great outdoors.”

Visitors discovered thisthree-dimensional luminous space that bring well-being and safety to city dwellers. Thanks to its almost infinite modularity, aesthetic design and user-controlled lighting moods, NIGHT LOUNGE adapt to any type of environment and provide dedicated atmospheres. This evolving structure is a unique medium in tune with the times.

On the subject of sustainability, Roger NARBONI adds: ” We are totally in phase with the notions of reversibility and reuse. This is how the concept was conceived. The uses of a site can evolve, and it’s out of the question to throw things away. NIGHT LOUNGE can be redesigned and re-customized – that’s the beauty of the product!”

Stéphane RAGNI concludes: “ The association of GROUPE RAGNI around Roger NARBONI and Gaia Lemmens has enabled us to pioneer an idea that is now being put into practice industrially. This collaboration places us in a vision and environment that no other manufacturer carries today. Many thanks to them for their presence on our stand. Groupe Ragni is proud to be working with them to reinvent lighting, demonstrating that sensible lighting also means design and aesthetics.

GROUPE RAGNI AT THE SALON DES MAIRES

FROM NOVEMBER 21, TO 23, 2023

GROUPE RAGNI was once again honored to take part in the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales on November 21, 22 and 23, 2023.

Once again this year, we welcomed a large number of visitors to our stand to showcase our expertise through discussions and product demonstrations.

Highlights

Among those who visited us over the three days were several French decision-makers, with whom we were able to defend our expertise and present our French expertise in street lighting and connected technologies.

Indeed, the ecological transition is receiving unprecedented impetus from public authorities (Christophe Béchu, Agnès Pannier-Runacher) and private players like GROUPE RAGNI (RAGNI NOVÉA ÉNERGIES SEVⓔ).
At a time when the French government has launched ambitious initiatives such as the France 2030 plan, or the Green Fund, which will be renewed for 2024 (a 2.5 billion euro envelope, once again including the renovation of public lighting fixtures in its list of priority projects), the challenges linked to energy sobriety in territories gave rise to some fine moments of exchange during this SMCL 2023 edition.

And to the many other elected representatives who took the time to come and meet us.

On the export side, GROUPE RAGNI has been supporting African countries for many years in their public lighting policies and in optimizing their resources.

This strong commitment gave us the immense privilege of receiving on our stand a visit from a delegation of Ivorian mayors led by Mr. Jacques Gabriel EhouoMayor of Plateau, and a delegation of several African ambassadors led by Doyen H.E.
